The Free Indeed Home has been open over a year now! Over the past year we have had the amazing opportunity to rescue and provide healing to over 30 girls from the world of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking! Most of our girls have come from broken homes, and broken lives, even before they have been victims of commercial sexual exploitation of children, with no hope of a future. As we have provided our girls with a Safe House and educational opportunities, we have been blessed to witness their mental, physical, and spiritual healing! With the help of generous donor's in-kind gifts and donations, we have been able to: provide room and board to our girls, install a new fitness center, enroll our girls in equine therapy, acquire a state-of-the-art obstacle course, and much more.
Unfortunately, we have run into a few obstacles of our own. We are a non-profit organization and our funding relies on very limited medicaid reimbursement and private donations. At the beginning of this year, Louisiana implemented a new health care plan making it very difficult for us to receive our reimbursement. The transition has been difficult to say the least such that we have gotten very little reimbursement from the state over the past five months. On Friday, May 8th, we aired our grievances publicly with the help of our friends at Fox 8. As the last of our funding began to dwindle out, closure was imminent. Since then, we have seen renewed hope as we are seeing a rise in private donations. With God's blessings, we believe He will allow us to continue this good work He has set before us.
Please help us in our effort to help these girls.
Special thanks to the Exchange Club of West St. Tammany for the beautiful obstacle course and the Brown Foundation for the incredible gym!
